How to add an app in Microsoft Teams

Did you know that in Teams you can add a link to a variety of different apps? Some of the most commonly used are OneNote to share quick notes or to do lists, and the Planner to coordinate timeframes with your team.  

Here’s how

  1. To add one of these to your channel’s navigation tabs, go to the channel and click the plus button in the top right. You’ll see a menu that shows a lot of available apps and file formats.
  2. Select the one you want to add and pop the details in on the next screen. The details will vary between the apps. In this example we’re creating a new Notebook in OneNote. 
  3. Click “save” and the app will be available from the top navigation!
