How to use @ mentions on Microsoft Teams

With much of the workforce now based at home, we’re all spending a lot of time communicating through Microsoft Teams.

With so much to do and so many colleagues online, it can be easy for messages to pile up.

To avoid important things getting lost, use @ to tag your colleagues to direct a message specifically to them.

They will get a notification they’ve been mentioned in Teams, making it easy for everyone to communicate efficiently and effectively.

Here’s how

  1. To mention an individual or a team in a message simply type the @ symbol followed by their name and select them from the pop-up list.
  2. Once this is sent, they’ll receive a notification in their activity tab that once clicked, will take them directly to the message!
