The Solution

Working in collaboration with Nexplore, Honegger built the new intranet on M365 and SharePoint Online, integrated with LiveTiles Intranet Hub for added functionality.

The Challenge

Overcoming Communication Barriers

Honegger AG is a full-service provider of building-related services. It operates in the areas of facility management, cleanroom, healthcare, and food. The company has 23 locations across Switzerland and a diverse workforce consisting of over 100 nationalities. There are roughly 500 desktop workers in administration, while 6,000 frontline workers are out on the road every day.

With such a distributed workforce, communication posed a significant challenge for Honegger AG. The company’s existing intranet platform was outdated, not user-friendly, and couldn’t facilitate efficient interaction among employees. In addition, the platform failed to provide easy access to important documents like QM papers and process maps. To address these issues, Honegger teamed up with Nexplore, a close certified partner of LiveTiles. Together, they decided to replace the old system with a new one that could allow communication between all employees, including frontline workers, in their respective native languages. In the process, Honegger hoped to cultivate a stronger sense of community across the whole workforce.

The Solution

Building a modern Intranet

Working in collaboration with Nexplore, Honegger built the new intranet on M365 and SharePoint Online, integrated with LiveTiles Intranet Hub for added functionality.

The LiveTiles Intranet Hub enabled the use of global elements like the multilingual “MegaMenu”, the Everywhere Panel, and other modules. This allowed future content adjustments to be made directly by champions (content managers, editors, experts).

To further improve communication with frontline workers, Honegger implemented the LiveTiles Reach app. This app would allow news content to be maintained in three languages and automatically translated into additional languages as needed. Users could also personalize their information flow by subscribing to selected news channels.

The Result

A Modern, Mobile Intranet for Employee Communication

With the Reach app, Honegger AG successfully enhanced employee communication across the organization. Contributions and comments on news promoted open dialogue. This reduced email overload and sped up decision-making despite physical distance. The user-friendly interface and personalized news channels improved usability, while the Everywhere panel provided easy access to specialist applications. Document management was streamlined, and organizational department pages were set up for better navigation.

The solutions also ensured cross-organizational and cross-location distribution of relevant information, including company internals, ICT information, new entrants, quality assurance information, pandemic news, business development, and more.

By joining forces with LiveTiles and Nexplore, Honegger AG didn’t just enhance its internal communication. The company also fostered a stronger sense of belonging and community among its diverse team. Their digital evolution showcases how an inclusive, modern intranet can transform the frontline workers experience no matter how dispersed its workforce might be.
